RONNIE K. DAMPIER, VICE PRESIDENT

Ronnie K. Dampier serves as Vice President for the DC Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) and Co-Chair of the Emerging Leaders Committee on the NFBPA National Board. He’s been a member of NFBPA for two years and recently graduated from its Executive Leadership Institute. Currently, Ronnie is the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Operations and Infrastructure.  His DC Government career started at the DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Adjudication Services, where he served as Hearing Support Manager and Management Analyst. In those roles, he was responsible for day-to-day operations, performance and quality assurance. Ronnie also served as a member of the Traffic Adjudication Appeals Board.

Ronnie then transitioned to the Office of the City Administrator as Senior Operations Analyst, where he supported four agencies; the Department of Human Resources, Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Office of Labor Relations and Office of Contracting and Procurement. Before public service, Ronnie held a variety of senior roles with Marriott International. He holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Tuskegee University. In his downtime, he enjoys traveling, cooking and having a good laugh.

Terrence W. James, member-at-large

Terrence W. James serves as Member-at-large for the DC Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA). Terrence is a native Washingtonian with a passion for public service and effective government. He brings more than nine years of research and government experience to the DC Department of Public Works (DPW), where he now serves as a policy and projects officer.  His daily work includes managing special agency initiatives, performance management, and process improvement projects.  Additionally, he serves as the chief liaison with other city departments, and facilitates special projects designed to improve the delivery of services to District residents.  Prior to DPW, Terrence managed specialized high school workforce readiness programs in DC Public Schools, and provided consultative services to local and state government entities at the University of Georgia.

Terrence holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Georgia. He is also a certified public manager (CPM). In his spare time, Terrence enjoys learning the game of golf, playing dodgeball with his seven-year-old son, and volunteering in his community. He is also a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), the Greater Washington Urban League and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
